What is Body Doubling

Body doubling is the practice of working alongside another person while focusing on your own task. It sounds simple, but for many people, it can be a game changer.

Whether you're tackling work projects, school assignments, household chores, creative pursuits, or everyday life tasks, the presence of another supportive person can help increase motivation, focus, and follow-through.

At Haveheart Therapy and Wellness, we offer both group and individual body doubling sessions designed to provide the structure, accountability, and encouragement needed to help you move forward.

Why Does it Work?

Most of us know what we need to do.

The challenge is finding the energy, focus, or momentum to actually do it.

Research suggests that working in the presence of others can improve concentration, motivation, and task completion. Many people also report feeling less overwhelmed, less isolated, and more capable of tackling difficult tasks when they have support nearby.

Body doubling combines accountability, connection, and structure in a way that helps break through procrastination and overwhelm.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

What Happens in a Session?

1.

Set Your Goal

Set clear goals for the session and what you're working on.

2.

Focus and Break

Use the Pomodoro Method: alternating focused work periods of 25 minutes with short 5-minute breaks.

3.

Celebrate Progress

End with time to celebrate progress and identify next steps.

Who is this for?

We are especially committed to creating an affirming, welcoming environment for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals, while remaining open to anyone seeking support and accountability.

It's more than just productivity,

it's growth through self-awareness.

Many participants discover that body doubling isn't just about getting tasks done.

It's also an opportunity to notice the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that arise when you try to focus, prioritize, or care for yourself. These insights can be valuable topics to explore in therapy and can deepen your understanding of what supports your success.

Stop waiting for the "Perfect Time"

Take the next step and register for an upcoming session. Give yourself permission to try a different approach and discover what becomes possible when you're supported along the way.

You bring the task, we'll provide the support!
